# AI Policy for MacIvor Technical LLC

Canonical: https://www.macivortech.com/ai-policy

As artificially generated content continues to spread across the internet it is important to take a stance as an individual and as a company on how AI will be used for my projects.

## The rules for MacIvor Technical LLC

As it regards any human-facing media of any kind, whether that is copy, images, videos, or similar - AI will not be used to generate that content. It is not permitted to create images or videos.

Some exceptions apply for human-facing copy.

1. For generating copy necessary for accessibility, such as aria properties, and similar structure used for guiding screen readers and other assistive technology.
2. For creating microcopy such as for buttons, labels, navigation.
3. Generating legal copy, such as terms of service and privacy policies.
4. For generating translations of human created copy.
5. AI can be used for finding and fixing minor spelling and grammatical errors as well as broken links.
6. AI may process media which includes acting to re-size, re-encode, crop, modify metadata, or composite media.

### AI can render assistance without informing decisions on media.

* AI can point out factual errors and stale information but may not fix them.
* It may be used to suggest edits that would change the meaning of images and videos, particularly where it would assist accessibility, but it is not allowed to apply them.
* AI can help an author adhere to a human generated outline for content creation, such as pointing out where the outline suggests a human intended to supply detail per the outline but failed to do so.

### AI is permitted to write code and technical facing documentation.

* AI is permitted to create code, document structure in terms of HTML, metadata intended for other agents or bots and similar tasks.
* AI may also generate metadata necessary for completing coding tasks, such as commit messages, PR descriptions, technical documents including READMEs.

### What to expect when an agent modifies a document that requires human generated copy.

1. It may leave a placeholder such as *Add Copy Here* or similar.
2. If it is informed of the purpose by a human, it can add the purpose of the copy to the placeholder.
